Henry David Thoreau was an author, poet, philosopher, abolitionist, naturalist, tax resister, development critic, surveyor, and historian. Thoreau fist became very interested in transcendentalism after reading Emerson's books. Emerson eventually ended up helping Thoreau write poems and books. Thoreau was basing most of his ideas off of Emerson ideas and thoughts. eventually he had all that he needed and moved out into the forest. He moved out in the forest in around 1845. He mixed his thought's and Emerson's thoughts together and incorporated them all into the book Walden.Emerson went to the woods to remove yourself from society.

“I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” that was a quote from Henry David Thoreau's Walden. Thoreau took a new path to life and removed himself from society. He represented transcendentalism himself because this is not usually something people do.

"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you've imagined." is another quote that Henry David Thoreau had stated upon his long journey in the woods. This quote means to pick a way to live you life, then live that life to the very fullest. Go in the direction that you want to go and go that way with courage and no regrets at all.  Another reason why many knew that Henry was a huge transcendentalist because he was never afraid to be himself. “be yourself- not your idea of what you think somebody else's idea of yourself should be.” is one of his quotes. Again he had  a mindset that allowed him to ignore the opinions of other people. He was a transcendentalist.
